Sources & Destinations

The Sources & Destinations step allows users to spatially designate the specific locations for both digging and dumping activities.

Sources & Destinations overview.

There are four types of source and destination currently available to help organise sources and destinations:

  1. Dig: Contains ex-pit source locations.
  2. Stockpile Reclaim: Contains stockpile source locations.
  3. Stockpile Build: Contains locations for stockpile dumps.
  4. Dump: Contains waste dump locations.

Managing Locations

To manage source or destination locations, select the relevant type for the location. Use the toolbar to create or remove locations as needed. More information on the functions within the toolbar can be found in the Common User Controls page.

All locations require a name; however, source locations have several additional properties that must be configured:

Source Location Properties

If modelling additional fields, i.e - Au, Fe, they will appear here and can be populated with relevant values.

Specifying a Position

Select the desired source or destination location from the list. Click the map pin button on the viewport toolbar, then click on the surface where you want to place the location. A sphere will appear at the specified location, displaying its name.

To reposition the location after it has been initially placed, simply repeat the process: select the location from the list, click the map pin button, and then click on the surface for the new position.

tip

✔️ Before setting the physical location, ensure the relevant mesh surfaces are enabled and the appropriate snapping mode is set.
